Environmental Health & Safety Programs

Every employer must practice "DUE DILIGENCE", which means the employer must take every reasonable precaution to prevent accidents, injury, or illness in the workplace.

The written Safety Program is the map the company and the employees will follow to achieve a safe and healthy workplace.

Environmental Health & Safety Audits

An Environment, Health & Safety Audit is a comprehensive and objective evaluation of the design and effectiveness of a Safety Program. Auditing the safety program allows the organization to:

  • Obtain valuable input from employees and others at the work sites on the usability and practicality of the Safety Program.

  • Evaluate each individual component of the operation to determine how well your program is being implemented.

  • The Audit will ultimately highlight what you are doing well, what areas can be improved upon and what additional changes and/or improvements you can bring to your program.

Certificate of Recognition Audit

A Certificate of Recognition (COR) is essential to WCB's Partners in Injury Reduction (PIR) program and a key component of Alberta Human Resources and Employment's Partnerships program. By joining "PIR" and developing effective workplace Health & Safety management systems, you can earn up to 20% off your industry WCB rate.

Safety Inspections

As a part of your Environment, Health and Safety Program, a Safety Inspection of your site will reveal safety hazards which the untrained eye might have missed. Safety Inspections and developing an effective Environment, Health & Safety Program go hand-in-hand.

Supervisor Training

Often employees are promoted into a Supervisory position without any formal training. A Supervisor is a "Manager". A Manager is a person who gets results through other people. To be an effective Supervisor, formal training is a must.

Accident Investigation

A professional accident investigation will show you how accidents happen and how the results of a good accident investigation can reduce the frequency of accidents in the future.

A professional accident investigation by a third party may be required for legal purposes.
